Bowls, plates, platters, dough troughs, mazurs, cups, spoons, shuttles, weft-beaters, lucets and custom work, each piece is made by the hands of Finnr Bjornsson (Arthur Slaughter) himself to showcase the grain, color and flame of lovely local woods.  Oiled for protection, each piece is as useful and functional as it is an individual work of fine art and historical recreaion.

Whether you need a place to keep your amber and armrings, or a change of linens for the guestcloset slat bed, secure your valuables in a rowing-bench chest any oarsman would be proud of!

Crafted for practical utility as well as aesthetics,  a Finnr Bjornsson custom rowing-bench chest offers reliable storage for your tent, drakkar and great hall--as well as a solid place to sit--during those long voyages to Vineland or for gathering to hear the skalds' tales over a horn of mead.

The storytelling of "Ragnar the Revolting"

"T'was a dark and stormy night.when the disreputable-and-quite-possibly-mad-looking man turned up out of nowhere, asking to warm himself by our fire.  With our hands on our swords, we let him in."
"He introduced himself as Ragnar the Revolting and seated himself beside the hearth.  After a while and a cup of mead (and another, and another), he began to speak.  And he told the most amazing tales!"
"If he ever knocks at your door, let him in.  Hide your valuables, by all means--but by the gods, let him in!"
             --Snorri Sigurdsson, Jorvik

Whether it's recounting his exploits by day or telling the tales of Aesir and Vanir by watchfire in the heart of night, Arthur Slaughter performing as Ragnar the Revolting is a pleasure not to be missed!  In true oral tradition, Ragnar brings entertaining tales of his life as a Viking Age Northman alive, and gives them to his audience as memorable gifts of friendship, good will and, sometimes, caution.

Now you, too, can experience the storytelling of Ragnar the Revolting--at any time you choose!

Originally appearing on "For Those Who Face the Flooding--A Benefit for Our Friends," tracks "Ragnar and the Troll" and "Winter's Night" (copyright 2004  Arthur Slaughter) are now available for distribution as an EP sampler, aptly entitled "A Taste of Ragnar--Full Meal to Follow."

Recorded and engineered at Rose Hall Studio--well-known for their skill in balancing quality vocal reproduction and minimalist editting for true oral tradition representation--this EP is not to be missed for anyone who loves a good tale well told!

"What does Wyndreth listen to? Wyndreth listens to Ragnar the Revolting.  So does Karen.  And we both wish we could tell a story half as well..."
                     Karen Kahan--'Wyndreth Berginsdottir'
